Shane is a Chartered Physiotherapist specialising in musculoskeletal and sports injuries. Having previously worked in professional rugby, soccer and GAA, Shane brings expertise in the areas of strength & conditioning and injury prevention.
Shane qualified with 1st class honours in Physiotherapy from Brunel University, London (2013) and initially worked in the NHS where he progressed to work as a Senior Musculoskeletal & Orthopaedics Physiotherapist.

With a previous degree in Sports & Exercise Sciences (2009), he has worked as a Strength & Conditioning coach with a New Zealand professional rugby team, Counties Manukau RFU and held a coaching role with the London Senior Hurling Team (2014/2015).

Since moving back to Ireland, Shane has worked in private practice and for a time in the Blackrock Clinic, and here at Total Physio he manages a varied caseload of patients with chronic neck and low back pain, acute sports injuries, and post-op rehabilitation. He uses his expertise in exercise prescription and strength & conditioning to compliment his treatment skills in manual therapy and dry needling to ensure you are immediately working along the path to recovery and towards achieving your goals.

Shane teaches the Strength and Conditioning classes here, aimed at those who wish to build dynamic and functional strength and mobility to complement their other activities, and leads our new Personal Training service (launched in 2018).
Shane completed his Masters in Sports Physiotherapy in UCD this year where his thesis investigated the effects of Blood Flow Restriction Training.

He is moving to evening clinics only from August 2019 and will be available on Monday and Thursday evenings.
